Corinne Connor

Managing Director, Charlotte

Corinne Connor joined CM&I in May, 2006 as the managing director of the firm’s recently opened Charlotte, North Carolina office. She comes to CM&I with 10 years of event management experience. Previously, Corinne was a senior meeting planner with Wachovia Corporation focusing on multi-track investor conferences, sector specific CEO Summits, client incentive travel, golf tournaments and high-end client hospitality. Corinne gained international meeting planning experience with a European engineering firm, planning over 15 trade shows a year as well as client entertainment programs in the US, Canada and Europe.

Corinne holds marketing degree from Clemson University.

Nick Van Stratt

Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer

Nick has been managing conference and event technology for over 12 years. He has expertise in registration development, graphic design, event technology, web programming and registration management.

Nick holds an MBA in Supply Chain Logistics from Penn State University.

Joey Middleton

Global Sales Manager

Joey Middleton has been a part of the CM&I team for more than 10 years. He specializes in client relations and professional person-to-person connections in an effort to maintain the client’s objective is fulfilled. Before CM&I, Joey served the construction industry for nearly a decade as a sales representative.

Pamela Martin

Founder, Director of Operations and Logistics

Pam Martin has 20 years of event management experience. At CM&I, she focuses on program design, development and management. As the firm’s comptroller, Pam also oversees all program operations and staffing components. Prior to establishing CM&I, Pam held numerous positions in the fields of education, journalism and food and beverage marketing.

Pam currently serves on the Board of Directors, and as Vice President of Education, of the WestField Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI).


Jim Martin

Founder

With more than 30 years of experience in the corporate market and the hospitality industry. Jim Martin gained experience in event planning, educational seminars, incentive programs and training programs while working at major corporations including American Express and GE Capital. Jim’s primary responsibilities at CM&I include business development, marketing, client relations and vendor negotiations.

Jim holds a Masters Degree in Education and MBA in Marketing.

Ernst & Young – Tax Executives Workshop

Objective
Assist in the growth of the Ernst & Young tax practice by creating a unique environment for tax associates conducive to learning, sharing and building relationships.

Program
In conjunction with Ernst & Young, we created a program for the Ernst & Young Tax Executives Workshop, bringing together senior corporate tax officers from Fortune 300 companies and Ernst & Young partners who are Tax Service coordinators. To date, we have planned and executed ten of these workshops, providing services that include venue selection, rate negotiation, registration tracking, travel services, food and beverage planning, guest speaker coordination and arrangements for all recreational activities. Each workshop was placed in a desirable location to attract tax officers to attend.

Results
Ernst & Young has achieved increased customer loyalty as a direct result of the Tax Executives Workshops. The firm has gained a better understanding of the tax services their customers require, and feedback from workshop attendees reported a deeper understanding of the tax services Ernst & Young provides.

FOX TV Affiliates – Advertisers Incentive Trip

Objective
Strengthen and foster relationships with advertisers to increase overall advertising revenues for FOX TV affiliated stations through unique incentive programs.

Program
CM&I created incentive trips designed to motivate advertisers to spend incrementally with the stations. Additionally, the program was designed to encourage internal sales personnel to build stronger business relationships with their clients. Based on increasing their advertising spend with the station, advertisers earned special incentive trips to desirable travel destinations including Lisbon, Amsterdam, Las Vegas, Vienna and Montreux. CM&I researched and recommended specific trip destinations, arranged all logistical details including air and ground transportation, activities/tours and created special themed events to complement the ambiance of the selected locale. CM&I also produced promotional pieces (electronic and booklet) of the program to encourage participation as well as track all registration and travel details.  

Results
Feedback from advertisers as well as the stations that hosted the event has been positive and the incentive trips have become an annual event.

GE Commercial Finance – Annual Meeting

Objective
Provide the management from GE Commercial Finance with a forum for face-to-face networking among all business units. The forum would also provide the opportunity to review and discuss current business issues, set the tone and direction for the coming year, and recognize top achievers.

Program
CM&I researched and recommended a venue while also planning an agenda conducive to the meeting objectives.  Evaluating many different options, we negotiated contracts for the selected venue and a transportation company to provide the necessary services.  In addition, CM&I created a theme to reflect the division’s mission and sourced an outstanding keynote speaker to help build upon this theme.  The full agenda included a business session (CM&I coordinated all plans and arrangements for production and speakers), assorted activities to enhance networking, and all catered functions including an evening welcome reception, awards dinner and off-site activities.

Results

Based on feedback from the GE Commercial Finance business leader, the division enjoyed one of its most successful annual meetings ever. The keynote speaker was so well received, he was invited back to do additional meetings for other business units.

Various Clients – The Masters Golf Tournament

Objective
Foster relationships/increase business with their key clients by providing our clients with an exclusive, upscale event at the annual Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta,Georgia.

Program
CM&I developed a client appreciation program at The Masters, arranging private trips to the Masters Golf Tournament for clients and their key customers. CM&I planned all details and managed the entire program from start to finish including accommodations, catered meals in private homes exclusive to each group, ground transportation in luxury vehicles, a personal round of golf, and daily admission to The Masters Tournament. To ensure quality, CM&I provided all staffing.

Results
We note the success of this program by clients who have participated for over 16 years, and staff who are eager to return each year.
